AWWA Sibling Camp

"AWWA Sibling Camp has left me a deep impression because it was my very first camp with smaller children. Although the number of participants is small, but it wasn't any less fun than what any camp would be. We did planning of games and fortunately everything turned out well. We got to know more about the children from AWWA although the participants were their siblings. Despite being different from us, their siblings love and dote on them even though some may have difficulty communicating with them. We also learn about the different organisations that these unique children can go to after leaving AWWA. It was an eye-opener and it did help me in understanding more about the less fortunate." - Toh Zu Mei

"The camp was definitely a very enriching experience for us, as it allowed us to interact with the siblings of the children from AWWA, through various games and activities that we have planned. Through the camp, we were able to interact better with the siblings, and were able to see their love and care for their siblings. Also, we were able to better understand their feelings towards their siblings from AWWA. I feel that the camp has fufiled the main objectives to allow these siblings to break barriers by knowing that they are not alone, and that they too, have the network to help their siblings from AWWA into the near future. I'm glad that we have brought much fun and joy to the siblings, and that they appreciate our presence there. It has brought me a strong sense of satisfaction and has allowed me to better understand the needs of the children from AWWA and their siblings." - Valerie
