All Saint's Home Visit - 14th May

On the 14th May, the whole of Aged committee went down to All Saints' Home (Hougang) to interact with the elderly there. We taught them how to fold stars, played tic-tac-toe and charades (a guessing game) with them. Some of us also got to feed the elderly their dinner.

I was in the group that did stars for them. Though the visit was a short one, I was glad to see the elderly lit up with smiles on their faces when we interacted with them and folded stars for them. Although the stars were simple gifts from us, the old folks were clearly delighted. It was a joy to see them smiling and telling us that the stars we made were very beautiful. Besides that, I also got the chance to feed one of them her dinner. It was quite awkward at first as this was my first time, but I soon got the hang of it. What may seem simple to us such as eating a dinner, was actually not easy for them and it made me appreciate life even more. It was definitely an eye-opener for me.”

Reforestation At Seletar Resevoir - 24th May'08

Last Saturday, Our CCa members ( Sean, Clarabelle, Jeslyn & Madeleine) went down to seletar resevoir together with our very own baskteball and soccer team!

Well, despite of the warm and humid weather, everyone showed much teamwork throughout the whole activity :D Lead by Nature reserve Ranger Soo Chin and guide, Vanessa, we made our way into the nature reserve with grass and ferns that came up to knee length!

Cutters in one hand, and gloves in another, we started pulling the ferns right off the ground to make space for young plants that would grow to be Trees someday!

" Fun and tiring.A good learning experience for me. I was rather touched by the enthusiastic students from basketball and soccer! Everyone worked really hard despite of the hot weather! " - Sean.

Basketball girls all ready for work!

Briefing by the Ranger on what we should and should not be plucking!!

:D lets all do our part to conserve the nature parks alright!

ANIMAL WELFARE SYMPOSIUM - 24th May

Venue : Singapore Management University’s Ngee Ann Kongsi Auditorium.
Time : 8.30 – 6pm
Date : 24th May

HI FELLOW MEMBERS !
Recently, we went to this animal welfare symposium and we have gained whole a lot of knowledge and facts! We saw whooping photos , it wasn’t very pleasing though because it shows various abused results on the animals =[

Ohya you can log on to :
http://www.animalwelfare.sg/
to view some things that we have covered over there.

After attending this seminar , we urge you guys to consider eating free-range products.
No idea what free-range products are?? , they are products producing from humanely handled processes in the farms. Here are some photos for you guys to compare =]

Non free-range product

Free-range product condition

Ohya! Do consider to stop using animal testing products as well! You'll never know how much hurt we are actually bringing to the animals for comfort for ourselves!

Don’t u worry though , we still have other alternative ways to test the products! Such as using cell tissues and artificial skin cell.

Thats all for now :D , Love you people, seeyou guys soon!
